JOHANNESBURG - The “CineTravel” project arrived in Blue Eagle Primary School in Cosma City this Thursday. The project is a charity event hosted by Global Max Media Group (GMMG). It aims to bring film, cinema, and cultural enrichment to rural areas across Africa.

Since it’s arrival in South Africa, there has hosted several film screenings in Cape Town. In the past week, the project debuted its first Johannesburg screening at the Blue Eagle High School in Cosmo City. The second screening in Blue Eagle Primary School has started to gain momentum for the project in the region.

GMMG has now received invitation from neighbouring schools in the region to do more screenings for their pupils. The project has so far gained the compliments of the host schools. Many of the kids come from disadvantaged families, and do not have the opportunities to experience the joys of film and movies. The screenings gave them a chance to learn about the Chinese culture while bringing them memories to last a life time.

As BRICS members, South Africa and China have been on a steady path of cooperation in many sectors. Projects such as CineTravel are a means to implement cultural exchange between the people of both countries.
